WELCOME!

We are Darren and Kim - The Cheshire Cat pet sitters, a service dedicated to providing the very best care for your cats while you're away from home. We offer peace of mind by visiting your cat in their own home where they feel safe and loved. We specialise in looking after cats and other small animals. No one can look after your cat quite like you can, but we tailor our care according to your wishes and the needs of your pet to keep them happy and well in your absence. We will provide your cats with everything they need. Food and fresh water, play and stimulation, cuddles and a knee to sit on if they are that way inclined! We can also administer medication, and will act immediately (in consultation with you) if ever veterinary care is required. We will provide you with regular updates, photos and videos for peace of mind and for when you're missing your beloved cat.  We understand how hard it is to leave your furry friend in someone else's care and how important it is to find the sitter that is right for you and your cat. Take a look at the services we offer and find out if we are the right fit for you.

  • Provide play and affection.

  • Clean litter trays and food bowls.

  • Administer medication if required.

Flexible Care

Most cats require two visits per day, morning and evening. On occasions, one visit is enough. Similarly, your cat may need more.

The Cheshire Cat Pet Sitter can be flexible according to your needs. For example, you may want us to spend a few hours in the evening with your pet to provide extra company for them in your absence. We are also able to overnight stay with your pet. You can design your visits according to your pet's needs and requirements.

All this can be discussed during the meet and greet

We are Darren and Kim. We established The Cheshire Cat Pet sitting Service because we simply love cats! The idea to start our own cat sitting service came after struggling to find the pet sitting service that was right for us within our local area. With over 30 years' experience caring for cats, all strays with difficult backgrounds, we understand that every cat has different needs and requires different levels of care.

We currently have 3 cats - Polly, Milly and Jarvis. All are now senior cats and Polly, who is 18, is currently being treated for hyperthyroidism. Our lives revolve around these three cheeky cats.

Darren has previously worked at Animals in Distress animal sanctuary for a number of years, where he gained valuable experience caring for cats of all temperaments, as well as dogs and other small animals. Darren is passionate about the environment and the natural world and he's a keen ornithologist. Previously Darren worked as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities.

Kim grew up with cats, dogs, hamsters and goldfish and has, like Darren, had a lifelong love of animals. She was lucky enough to live in Tanzania for three years, where she had the opportunity to see big cats and other large animals in the wild. She's happy now to be settled back in Stockport with three slightly smaller cats! Before setting up The Cheshire Cat with Darren, Kim worked as a Community Development Worker for a refugee charity.

When we have any spare time, you can find us at our allotment growing vegetables and tending to our wildlife pond.
